About the Publication

The Perspective Behind the Journal.

Oranev Journal documents everyday supplementation habits and nutritional awareness for men leading active lives. The perspective is observational, evidence-informed, and independent.

Why This Journal Exists
The supplement aisle offers hundreds of answers before the question is clearly formed.

Oranev Journal was founded on a simple observation: the popular supplement landscape for men is structured around marketing claims that consistently outpace the research. Products promise outcomes. Advertisers speak in absolutes. The published nutritional literature is more modest, more conditional, and — for that reason — more useful as a practical guide.

This journal's founding purpose was to document the gap between what the supplement market says and what the independent nutritional literature actually observes. Not as an adversarial exercise, but as an editorial discipline. The men reading this journal are active, informed, and capable of distinguishing between a well-supported nutritional observation and a product claim. The editorial approach is to trust that capacity and write accordingly.

The publication covers the nutritional substrates relevant to active men's lives: vitamins, minerals, amino acid derivatives, dietary habits, supplement stacking approaches, and the rhythms that connect physical activity to nutritional need. Nothing more; nothing less.

Founding Editor
Marcus Chen

Marcus Chen established Oranev Journal following several years working as a nutrition writer and wellness editorial consultant across Southeast Asia and the UK. His approach to supplement journalism draws on a background in nutritional science communication, with a particular interest in the gap between popular supplement culture and independent nutritional research. Marcus has been based in Jakarta since 2022.

He reviews all articles published in the journal before publication and maintains the editorial standards outlined in the journal's methodology page. His own supplement routine is documented periodically in the journal as part of the editorial perspective.

Contributing Writer
Reza Pratama

Reza Pratama joined Oranev Journal as a contributing writer in 2025. His editorial focus is on nutritional awareness in Indonesian active lifestyle contexts — specifically the ways in which globally distributed supplement habits intersect with local dietary patterns and training cultures. Reza brings a perspective shaped by his own experience as a competitive endurance athlete and long-term supplement observer.

His contributions to the journal include the Nutrition Notes series, which examines specific micronutrients and their documented roles in everyday men's wellness routines through an evidence-informed editorial lens.

What the Journal Stands For
01
Independence

Oranev Journal accepts no advertising, affiliate arrangements, or sponsored content. Every article reflects the editorial team's independent reading of the available nutritional literature. Commercial relationships, if any ever arise, will be disclosed publicly on the relevant article.

02
Evidence-Informed

Articles draw on published nutritional research as their primary reference point. Where the evidence is strong and consistent, the journal reflects that. Where it is mixed or limited, the journal says so. The distinction between well-supported and poorly-supported nutritional claims is the central editorial discipline.

03
Observational

This journal documents and observes. It does not recommend routines, endorse specific products, or advise on individual nutritional requirements. The observational register is a deliberate choice — men with specific concerns about their own daily routines are encouraged to speak with a qualified wellness or nutrition professional.
